Lugger Falcon Awareness Day

Join us on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May 2024 to celebrate International Lugger Falcon Awareness Day. 

The Lugger Falcon is facing mass decline. Whilst accurate data is hard to come by, it's estimated as few as 10,000 to 20,000 individuals remain in the wild. We're supporting Project Lugger by hosting a fundraising day, with a target to raise £100: www.projectlugger.org.

Here on the farm, we have the beautiful Emilia, a female Lugger Falcon. Come along to the farm to say hello. 

• 11.30am - Watch our birds of prey in a flying display. 
• 1pm - Watch Emilia fly in our falconry display, alongside one of her friends. Meet in the flying field. 
• 1.30pm - Listen to a short talk about looking after Lugger Falcons. Meet by the aviaries. 
• 1.35 to 3pm - Handle one of our birds for a donation to Project Lugger of £1 per person. 
• 3pm - Meet our vulture, £1 donation to Project Lugger.

And, if you're feeling lucky, from 10am to 4pm in the falconry centre, we'll be running a tombola and lucky dip for donations of £1, with all proceeds going to Project Lugger!
