Afra Born: 27 April 1989 Breed:  1/2 Welsh Cob, 1/4 Arab, 1/4 Thoroughbred Arrived:      23 August 1990 Sex:      Gelding (male) Height:      14.1hh            Colour/markings: Chestnut roan with flaxen mane and tail; sock on near fore and stockings on remaining legs		Afra arrived from a stud farm in Mansfield.  Afra's dam (mother) was called 'Lady Arazona Gold'; his sire (father) was 'Viking Lord'.  Afra's great, great grandsire (i.e. his great grandfather's grandfather) won the Grand National in 1979.  Afra has always had very bad COPD (a respiratory problem), which has threatened his life a number of times.
Bluey Born:       5 April 1994 Arrived:       Summer 1999 Breed:      Miniature Shetland Sex: Mare (Female) Height:       7.1hh Colour/markings:   Grey with faint blue roan patches		Bluey originally lived at a fairground but she was neglected and spent most of her life tethered on the roadside.  A breeder saw potential in her and the sale was agreed.  However, despite several attempts, Bluey would not foal.  As she was no longer of any use to the breeder, he contacted us and asked if we would give her a good home.  Bluey was bought for the price paid by the breeder.
Daisy Born:      21/6/1992   Breed:      Shetland Arrived:      Summer 1999 Sex: Mare (Female) Height:      9hh Colour/markings: Black		Daisy originally belonged to an elderly couple.  She was one of a herd of thirty Shetlands, which explains where she learnt to be bossy!  When the elderly couple became too frail to manage to look after their ponies sufficiently, they sent them all to Melton Market.  Daisy was bought for £100 and her second owner later sold her to us for the same sum when she had to buy a larger pony for her daughter.
Kerry Born:      10/1/1988 Breed:      Shetland X Exmoor Arrived:      9 April  1995 Sex:  Mare (Female)    Height:      10.3hh            Colour/markings: Bay		Kerry arrived from Chelmsford after being purchased with Sky.  Their previous owner had lost her grazing and was having to keep Kerry and Sky in her garden.  Her sister lived in East Leake and, after hearing about Manor Farm, suggested that she enquire about Kerry and Sky being found a home with us.
Midnight Sky Born: 21 April 1992 Breed:      Shetland Arrived:      9 April 1995 Sex:  Mare (Female) Height:      9.2hh Colour/markings: Black with stripe		Sky arrived from Chelmsford after being purchased with Kerry.  Their previous owner had lost her grazing and was having to keep Sky and Kerry in her garden.  Her sister lived in East Leake and, after hearing about Manor Farm, suggested that she enquire about Sky and Kerry being found a home with us. Sky is a show quality Shetland and, in her previous home, came second at National Level and first at several local shows.  Sky's show name is 'Midnight Sky'.  Her sire (father) was Westpark Elect and her dam (mother) was Sysonby Glee.
Millie Born: 6 April 1999 Breed: New Forest Pony Arrived: 14 January 2000 Sex: Mare (Female) Height: 13hh Colour/markings: Iron Grey roan sock on on near hind		Millie was rescued by a friend of the farm owners when she was six months old.  She had ended up at a market as a result of the yearly round up of New Forest ponies.  Her mother had already been sold and Millie was left running from horse to horse trying to find her.  The dealer said that unless Millie was sold she would be sent for meat.
